You were so young! That must have been a difficult adjustment.

For me, it wasn't that long ago... it would have been just before I officially joined the Blue Foxes. [Which, pretend I put a number down here, it would have probably been between 1 and 4 years? I don't think the timeline is precise.] In truth, we were not close.

Hm… I was on the streets until I was nine, so I didn’t have to think about it much.

[ ANYWAY. Moving on from that little bomb… ]

It must be harder in some ways to have not been close, though I imagine that makes their absence easier to bear.

[In its own way, that's quite the adjustment, isn't it? To be such a young child and fall so hard? Yet it must have also been difficult to have any particularly complex thoughts on the matter, boiled down to just trying to survey.

She won't make this awkward by being overly nosy or sympathetic.]

What's done is done. That's how I see it. I'm always thinking about what I want to reach next... I think that's helpful, for how I move about life.

I feel similarly. It's always best to look ahead rather than dwell on things that you can no longer change.

[When Wei Wuxian does it, it's character building and empathetic, but when Quin does it it's weird and she probably killed her family. God forbid women do anything!]

Precisely. Why would I spend more time dwelling on what I don't have than figuring out how to get what I want? That's only logical.

[ Let women have hobbies! ]

That it is. For the same reason, I don't regret any of the choices I've made. After all, they're my choices.

Hahaha, you've a bold personality. I'd glad I wasn't wrong.

To live without regrets is hypothetically the ideal existence. Sometimes there are things we are simply compelled to do by our positions, but I think I'll have to keep living freely.

Living freely is all I’ve ever done. I don’t think I could do anything else.

[ But that of course comes with its own set of consequences. ]

You and I are really similar in many ways, aren’t we?

Hahaha, do you think so? [She leans on the arm of her theater chair. The laugh dies with a soft exhale. She's thought the same before.] Psyche says I'm much like a friend of hers, to boot. It's difficult to deny the similarities.

The essential differences, I'm sure, will reveal themselves with time.

[ But he grins. Their similarities are pretty big, so it's hard to really say what those differences could be. ]

[ He looks over at Psyche too, his gaze lingering for just a bit before he looks back over at Waltaquin. ]

Did you get the name of her friend? It might be the same one, because she said the same thing.

I might have, but should I say? I'm starting to feel a smidgen offended.

[ Why does she feel like she did something wrong... What if Psyche simply sinks a little in her seat and pretends not to hear any part of this? Good strategy. ]

This has really piqued my interest... the more I learn about this girl, the more intrigued I am!

Actually, if she resembles the both of us, she must be quite dangerous.
